After having my 2005 Honda Pilot into the shop for a no start no crank condition I was informed that my starter was bad. As it turns out the Timing Belt also broke, and the folks at Canadian Tire recommended that they not do the repairs as a result of the high shop labour hours required, and the potential for additional engine damage. As a result I have taken on the Starter and Timing Belt installation tasks to determine if there is additional damage to the engine.
The first task was to find a starter that would work in the 2005 Honda Pilot. I was able to pull one out of a 2003 Honda Odyssey from the local Pick and Pull. This gave me some good insight into the work required to do the installation on the Pilot as well. Overall the installation of the starter was a fairly simple task.
Additionally, I was able to pick up an external microphone (Rode Micro) to use with my Go Pro Hero 4. I’m not actually sure the audio is significantly better, but hopefully I will have further opportunities to work with this set-up in the near future and become better informed of its capabilities.
Cheers
