2005 Honda Pilot Spark Plug Removal and Compression Testing

After breaking my timing belt while driving I have undertaken a few tests of the Honda Pilot to determine the extent of the damage that was done. The first major task was to get another timing belt back on the vehicle so that I could turn the engine over without doing further damage to the pistons or valves.
The compression test was a fairly simple procedure requiring only to remove the spark plugs and disconnect the fuel pump. I was able to borough the Compression Tester from a local Part Source at no charge for the day. I ran the test three times: with a cold engine, with a cold engine and oil in the cylinder, and with the engine hot. I was initially concerned about running the engine for the time required to bring it to operating temperature, but felt that it would provide better results. In the end I got some fairly diverse readings, but the one thing that was consistent was that cylinder 6 had little to no compression across all tests.
I will have to get a leak down tester to get a more conclusive result on the nature of the damage that was done to the engine.
