After my timing belt broke on my Honda Pilot I started into some initial repairs so that I could run some tests on the valves to determine if there was some damage. I had purchased a impact wrench for the removal of the 19 mm Pulley Bolt, but it was unable to free up the bolt. My second attempt involved a series of breaker bars and the harmonic damper holding tool which is made for Honda and Acura vehicles. This method was ultimately successful in the removal of the bolt and subsequently enabled the installation of the timing belt.
Once the timing belt was on I was able to start the engine, but it has a bit of noise to it so further diagnostic work will be required to determine if i have bent any of the valves.
Cheers
