RODENT PROOF PORCH

Got persistent rodents or animals digging your porch? Fighting back is pretty easy

Look for a tell tale sign of rodents, a big hole
Move out any debris, and don't stick your head down there
Use a camera to see if anything is in there
Check everywhere as you don't want to bury an animal under your porch
This hardware metal cloth seems strong enough that a small animal won't be able to break through
Dig a hole about one foot deep and one foot wide all the way around the porch
You should end up with something looking like this
Fold the wire mesh in half in an L-Shape to prevent an animal digging straight down and under
You should be looking like this before starting to fill it in
I found some bricks and rocks and tossed those in the hole too
Fill it all in and ensure that the mesh is in direct contact with the porch concrete
The corner is a bit more difficult, and you will need to do some cutting as well as ensure that there is overlap between the pieces of mesh
Ensure good overlap with the last piece of mesh
Rocks are good as they fill in space and are harder to dig out
Boards are also good but will obviously deteriorate overtime and will need some dirt to be brought in later
The corner is a bit difficult, but can be fixed by some creative cutting of the mesh
