3 WAY VALVE INSTALLATION

After having had to cut my old valve out for winterization it was only a matter of time until I had to put it back together. Overall a pretty simple job, but it is important to keep the valve level.

Gather up all the parts that you need to install the parts you need before starting
Using threaded connectors so that you don't need to cut anything off in the future
Cut down the pipes with an aim to keeping the valve level
Insert couplings into the suction lines
For stiffer pipes I prefer to use two mechanical hose clamps to prevent leaks and pressure loss
Teflon tape is absolutely critical to prevent leaks
This is a bad angle and it caused pressure issues
More teflon tape on everything
Suction and return lines are not the same thing necessarily. The suction side needs to be more rigid so they don't collapse
Use hot water to help separate connectors. It makes it much easier to remove them
Level???? Kind of. Much better than before
Get everything connected up. More hose clamps are the better
Test out the valve in the drain position
Test the skimmer and then both drain and skimmer at the same time. You've just set up your first three way
