BASEMENT FLOOR DRAIN CLEANING

***If your drain is totally backed up and not draining, do not try this it will not help you. You need to snake your drain or run a camera to see if your pipe is collapsed***
This video is for a slow drain that occasionally backs up from heavy use, or for just general cleaning of the floor drain. It will also help to keep the stank out.

Not much is needed, Vinegar, Baking Soda, and very hot or boiling water
I drop in the boiling water first since boiling water helps to break up grease and oil better than cold water
Next down the hole is the Baking Soda. Any brand will work, and about half a cup is all that I started with
Next slowly add a cup or two of plain vinegar
Go slow to prevent bubble over
Use a mop to clean up your mess
Dump in more hot water behind the vinegar to push it throught the pipes
Repeat with Baking Soda
Repeat with Vinegar
Keep going until the drain starts to move better, if after a few cycles there is no improvement you might need to snake the pipes
