BAFFLE VENT INSTALLATION

Soffit vents are needed to keep the aid movement going in your attic for many houses. Always wear a goo dust mask as a minimum when working in insulation, particularly in old insulation.

There are many types of baffles available. Pick one the fits properly between your roof trusses.
Reach in and remove the old insulation all the way back into your soffit area
Slide the baffle vent all the way in until extends beyond the wall header and into the soffit area so that it is out in the fresh air
Staple the baffles in place. It is not enough to rely on the insulation to hold them up
You may need to get in some tough positions to staple things in place. You may also need to double them up if you don't have a steep roof
You should have traditional type of insulation at the soffit end ot the baffle. This will keep the blown in insulation from falling into the sofit area.
Push the loose fill insulation back in place. It is helpful to have a sheet of plywood with you for this
